Flights and first impressions

Well we have successfully made it to Cape Town. We left Melbourne Thursday night and arrived in Cape Town Friday afternoon, with a few hours stopover in Dubai. Thanks to S&A and M&K for helping out with clean up and last minute matters.

We were met at the airport by staff from our accommodation. We've been really blessed in our initial accommodation. Its really safe and secure. My work is 5 mins walk in one direction while Cape Town's largest shopping centre is 5 mins walk in the other direction. We also get a gym, swimming pool, sauna and spa! I'm thankful that we can have such an easy transition into the country, especially since I had to go to work today, only a few days after landing.

In terms of jetlag, we haven't been too bad but come 9pm I definately feel like hitting the sack and we are subsequently waking between 5-6am. I've just been getting up early. I can get to work anytime between 7-9am and leave between 4-6pm which is nice flexibility.

We have hooked up the internet so if you want to skype us, we'll try to be online a bit.

We went into a christian book shop in the shopping centre and immediately made several christian contacts. We've been given some details for some christian guys our age to catch up with.

I'll put up a photo of our apartment grabbed off their website. Maz has taken some photos of our beautiful view which I'll post up soon.

We've enjoyed included access to the pool/sauna/spa/gym and have had some friendly chats to other residents there. We're on a health and fitness drive at the moment but not sure if the novelty will wear off.

Anyway, hope to keep these blog posts shorter and more regular. Let us know if you would like to know any particular details. At the moment we have 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms so really need some visitors to justify them!! :) If you are in town be sure to tell us and feel free to stay over.
